The SIMS Pocket Edition application is an iPhone application that when used with the SIMS iServer allows secured access for Alarm Central Station personnel, service technicians, installers and the central station clients. This application is for use only by authorized personnel and will only work with Alarm Central Stations supported by software from SIMS, Inc. Features supported by SIMS Pocket Edition are as follows:

• Access is controlled using the standard Operator Maintenance screen in SIMS. The WEB operator type limits what reports/functions they can perform.

• Dealers can access all their accounts (and only their accounts) with one login. Customers are restricted to just their account number. Accounts can be searched by Number, Name, Address and Class.

• Numerous styles of history reports, summary account listings and full database reports.

• Installation personnel can use the app to enter zones and contacts during installation, thereby improving accuracy of information since it can be approved on site by end users.

• Dealer technicians can modify Premise Name, Physical Address, Mailing Address, Email Address, Zone and Contact information.

• End Users can modify Premise Name, Physical Address, Mailing Address, Email Addresses and Contact information.

• Technicians can place accounts on test, monitor signals being sent during testing, then return account off test with out Central Station assistance.

• Technicians can see a list of the current Pending Work Orders which is sorted by the closest to their current location.

• Dealer, Customer and Service Work Order History Reports for streamlining daily operations.

• Complete audit trail of activity performed by users written into SIMS II/III/SQL history as well as detailed access logs.

• Data sent between the server and app uses a 1024 bit encryption protocol to protect the data being sent. App is configurable for central stations IP/Hostname and port number.

• Compatible with SIMS II, SIMS III Flat File and SIMS III SQL installations.

Pros and cons of SIMS Pocket app for iPhone and iPad

SIMS Pocket app good for

Works great! Saves tons of time and phone calls. Get it today!
The SIMS Pocket is truly a game changer in the security monitoring industry. Finally a product that empowers not only the installing company techs but also the home/business owner. Easy to use and fully interactive. Allows clients to have full access and control of there information.
Very handy app. It continues to work well after update. Im running iOS 6 on iPhone 5 Updated 10/17/12 Todays update gives full screen on iPhone 5 & works well, but it appears that landscape view of reports is no longer available, which was handy for a larger font, on the iPhone. Perhaps they will adjust that ... Hopefully! Updated 02/05/13 The Nov. 17, 2012 update still doesnt have landscape view for reports, making it difficult to read on the iPhone. Landscape view would be very beneficial especially on the iPhone 5 with its longer screen. Funny, they disabled landscape view just when the latest hardware would have made it more beneficial. Updated 04/25/2013 Glad to have Landscape view, of Reports, back as of an update or 2 ago. Its nice on the Longer iPhone 5 screen.
Nice app, works well, be nice if you could have more than 1 station working with this.other than always changing your info or have it on another device.even if it was a paid app would be nice
Latest version v4 works much better than previous below. So it seems they are trying to improve the user experience on iOS. Thx! With no response ever from App Support (shame!) I started giving feedback to my Stations Director who subscribes to SIMS support. Did this help, not sure, but they represent many of us versus just each of us one by one. Older version review <=v3.8 comments: Can get work done on my iPhone5, but the latest version makes it so much harder to login with no TouchID support (iPhone5) and the fact that memorized username and passwords do not work well at all anymore. Password field freezes, and you have to press login, get a failure, then renter username and password. A lot harder than before. No app support internally. App support on App Store gets error 404. For Professional Software, this is a very buggy release. Better regression testing needed before release. Maybe even a new product manager! SIMWARE has never responded to tickets entered. It looks like a black hole. Not really a professional image one would expect. Cmon guys - lets get it together!!!

Some bad moments

SIMS needs to think a lot bigger. This app is little more than a front-end for SIMSweb. For a start, how about activating iOS notification functionality?
i have to have my iPad in a standing position to work... i work with mine on its side.. also, after trying to put a account on test.. it kicks me out of the system... has some good old fashion bugs in it that need to be fixed..
It was pretty good at one point but then I accepted the latest update and it all went down. I even restored the entire phone and still cant get id saver to work, so I have to log in with ful password every few minutes. It also crashes due to invalid arguments regularly.
Just an amazing product and the time it saves my people you cant put a price on.
Please fix this!!!!!! new update when panel is returned to service push notifications keep coming over and over and over again
Saves hundreds of hours in time on the phone with the cs! Worth every penny
